Featured here is my creation, my simulacrum, FLORP. Florp is an original character I use to explore themes directly related to puppetry and play.

Florp is a manifestation of ubiquotous anthropormorphic doodling. Harnessing the power of the uncanny valley while simultaneously seeming friendly and familiar, FLORP lives inside us all.
His (thier) form is allegorical to the arists phsyche; indicating with simultaneous minimalism and superficial asthetics the anxieties toward identity that push the artist to create self-portrait that glorifies instead of revealing truth.
FLORP, with all his vaguness, speaks volumes by saying nothing, is complex in his simplicity and ultimately gives the viewer a reflection on the artist’s hand as well as the vierwers eye.
In otherwords, he looks wierd but also nice and soft.

Florp is often very hesitant to talk about himself and his dreams, as sometimes the information can be exploited for social leverage. Lofty aspirations aside, and whether or not he’s fully aware, Florp is truly a shining star. We are proud to present his first outing into the entertainment landscape, Florp Show!
